Wish I Knew is a story of heartbreak. Sitting in the midst of emotional turmoil as you realise what you wanted to happen and what will actually happen are two completely different things. Knowing that the situation you are in with this person is a destructive one but finding it hard to let go regardless.
lyrics
Awake,
To a sky in red,
Take a picture of this time,
And my soul,
Is running out,
But it won't be gone,
No it won't be gone,
An' I plead,
How can this be?
An' I know,
It may feel a little better now,
Then you scream,
How I wanna go,
So hard to predict who's turning round I've gotta leave,
Ooh Wish I Knew, knew,
How to be the man to let this be,
Wish I Knew, knew,
How to be the man,
Why I fall every time the moon appears,
Why I fall every time the moon appears,
Oh,
This youth may be,
A gift we're too blind to perceive,
An' I catch myself,
Fretting alone,
On what could have been,
What could have been,
An' it seems,
I'm caught in your teeth,
An' I know,
It may feel a little better now,
Then you scream,
How I wanna go,
So hard to predict who's turning round I've gotta leave,
Ooh Wish I Knew, knew,
How to be the man to let this be,
Wish I Knew, knew,
How to be the man,
Why I fall every time the moon appears,
Why I fall every time the moon appears,
Ooh,
Oh no!
Oh no!
Oh no!
Oh no!
Oh no!
Oh, oh, oh!
You've been messing me around,
Yeah you've, you been messing me around,
Yeah you, you've been messing me around,
Yeah you've been messing me around.
